Navigating the NDIS with clarity
Using Your NDIS Funding
Short answer: most families can use their funding for my services. Here's exactly how, without the jargon.
First, how is your plan managed?
This is the bit that decides everything. If you're not sure, it's written on your plan, or your support coordinator will know.
Self-managed — you handle your own funding and pay providers yourself.
✅ Yes, you can use my services.
You pay me at the time of booking, then claim it back through the my NDIS portal or app using the invoice I send you. Reimbursements are usually quick, but you will be out of pocket briefly, so it's worth knowing that before you book.
Plan-managed — a plan manager pays your invoices for you.
✅ Yes, you can use my services.
This is the easiest option for you. I invoice your plan manager directly and you pay nothing yourself. I'll confirm with them first that the funding is available, so there are no surprises for anyone.
Plan managers can pay unregistered providers — that's one of the main reasons families choose plan management. A lot of parents don't realise this, and it opens up far more choice than they think.
NDIA-managed (agency-managed) — the NDIA pays your providers directly.
❌ Not through the NDIS, sorry.
These plans can only pay registered providers, and I'm not one. You're very welcome to book privately if you'd like to.
The details you'll need
Provider: Domenica Soroka, From Chaos to Clarity
ABN: 82 439 178 014
Registration: Unregistered provider
Support item: 15_038_0117_1_3 — Training for Carers/Parents
Category: Capacity Building — Improved Daily Living
GST: Not GST registered, so no GST applies
Why my work sits in that category
Improved Daily Living includes training and support for parents and carers — building your capacity to understand and support your child.
That's exactly what I do. I don't work directly with your child. I work with you: helping you understand what's driving the hard days, what your child needs, and what to change at home and at school. You keep the plan and use it long after our work together finishes.
What I can't tell you
I can't tell you whether a support is reasonable and necessary for your plan, or whether you have funding available. That's your call as a self-manager, or your plan manager's.
What I can do is give you the support item and a quote in writing, so whoever needs to approve it can do so quickly.
If you're plan-managed, here's the process
- Email me and tell me what's going on for your child.
- I'll tell you honestly which service fits — or if I'm not the right person.
- Send me your plan manager's email address and your NDIS number.
- I'll confirm the funding with them directly. You don't have to chase anything.
- Once that's confirmed, you fill in a short intake form and I write your plan.
- I invoice your plan manager. You pay nothing.
Not sure where you fit?
Email me and tell me how your plan is managed. If I can't help through the NDIS, I'll say so straight away rather than leaving you guessing.
No blame. No shame. Just clearer next steps. 💛
